3rd person singular

We add -s, -es, -ves, and -ies with the stem verb for 3rd person singular.

However, there are some irregular verbs of present tense for 3rd person singular.

Example: Have – Has

Subject + stem verb+ s / es / ies etc..

    • Add es for the verbs that end in o, –ch, –sh, –ss, –x and –z.
    • Add ies for the verbs that end in y but remember to eliminate Y from the verb.
    • Add ves for the verbs that end in -f and -fe.
    • Add ‘s’ for the verbs that end in vowel+y.
